I want to cordially thank all of you who replied to my request both on- and
off-list! You have been very helpful, and I was quite surprised about the
amount of archaeobotanical evidence of Nigella spp. (currently 14 published
and 4 unpublished finds of the 3 species N. arvensis, N. damascena, and N.
sativa). I am still curious about any new hints on Nigella finds, especialy
concerning the more "exotic" taxa like N. orientalis, N. hispanica, or N.
Thanks again for all the help, and best regards,
Andreas G. Heiss, Mag.
