Dear all,
This semester I am lecturing Palaeoenvironmental Reconstruction: Theories
and Methods. This course serves as an introduction to various methods of
palaeoenvironmental reconstruction, from varves, palynology, phytoliths,
plant macroremains identification (seeds and charcoal), diatoms,
micromorphology, etc. I present one method in each of my 12 3-hour
lectures, with its theoretical background, its aim, its possibilities and
limits, etc. It’s a very fast overview…
I would also like to introduce a practical side by giving my students
exercises that they could realise during lab periods or at home.
Unfortunately, we do not have enough microscope nor lab space for all, but
nonetheless I think it could be interesting to do exercises using a
projector, or even exercises on paper (using pictures, diagrams, etc.). I
would therefore be most grateful if any of you are willing to share any
existing exercises or Power Points, or if anyone know of good online
resources and exercise. Please reply directly to my address:

P.S.: I take the opportunity to thank all those who have helped me identify
my Albanian mystery. I had the chance to look it up in reference
collection and it is indeed a fragment of a Pinus pinea cone! Many thanks
again!
