REMINDER AND NOTIFICATION:
"Questions of evidence: ethnography and anthropological forms of knowledge"
Call for papers (EXTENDED) DEADLINE 15TH SEPTEMBER 2006
The initial call for papers has attracted considerable interest, and after
successful applications for further funding, we have been able to EXTEND
the workshop to a TWO DAY CONFERENCE, JANUARY 27 AND 28, taking place at
CRASSH and King's College, Cambridge.
Because of this extension, we are looking for abstracts especially by
post-fieldwork students and recent PhD's who might wish to present a paper
at this conference. It promises to be a very exciting event. Please contact
Timm Lau ([log in to unmask]) before the 15 September if you are interested in
presenting.
*** 'Questions of evidence' is a workshop/conference taking place at CRASSH
and King's College in Cambridge on 27 and 28 January 2007. It aims to
provide a platform of exchange for post-fieldwork students and established
ethnographers to critically evaluate the use of explanatory models in
ethnographic work, and the location of evidence in this process. Keynote
speakers will be Dr. Rita Astuti and Prof. Marilyn Strathern.
The conference is also an opportunity for grad students and recent PhDs
from LSE and Cambridge to engage with each other. We hope for this to be
the first of a series of seminars to facilitate an enriching and fun
engagement between research students at Cambridge and LSE Anthropology
Departments!
Please note the (extended) deadline for abstracts is the 15th
SEPTEMBER 2006, and refer to the call for papers for details.
