This film tells the story of a 23 year campaign, based in London, to free
17 former members of the Grenadian Government, who were imprisoned after
the US invaded in 1983.
The government was in power on the Caribbean island between 1979 and 1983,
when events led to the killing of Prime Minister Maurice Bishop and the US
invasion. What happened is still bitterly disputed, but the 17 were
convicted in what Amnesty International describes as a miscarriage of
justice, leaving deep trauma on the island, and many unanswered questions.
Throughout their long battle, what kept the campaigners going and how
optimistic are they about the future?
This is David Grey's first full length documentary and the first for the
production company Silver City Films.
