Gloucestershire County Council – County Record Office
Archives and Records Officer
Scale: £18,450 - £24,000 (with a bar at £22,512). 37 hours per week.
Contract ends 30 September 2008
Gloucestershire Record Office can offer a very exciting post to all
archivists and records managers looking to broaden their experience. This
post combines the work of a cataloguing archivist and an ‘all round’
Records Manager, which will enable a faster accumulation of skill sets,
especially for recently qualified applicants. The post is located both in
Shire Hall and the Record Office, which is not far away and will contain
slightly more Records Management work.
Currently the office is involved in a number of innovative activities
including the rolling out of a corporate Electronic Document and Records
Management System, the merging of archives and local studies functions and
the lead in information management in the authority. You will be part of a
team of over 40 colleagues, which will give you all the help and support
you need.
Applicants should have an honours degree and professional qualification in
Records Management or Archive Administration and preferably a good
knowledge of FOI, DPA and local authority working.
