The sort of thing I would like to do would be something like (note naive
syntax and no reference to ccpn api!)

with matrix size
spectrum.sw((1000,350.1)) # set
sw on axes
spectrum.refpt((1000,350.1)) # set
reference point on axes
....
# set all other relevant parameters spec frequencies etc
spectrum.setValues(box_min, box_max,data) # set a block of
values to the floats in data
spectrum.flush()
# flush data to disk
