Historic Landscape Characterisation

£22,512-£24,000 pa
We seek an experienced archaeologist who can assess the historic landscape of the County and prepare an Historic Landscape Character model. The work will involve extensive use of IT, especially GIS, but you should also have experience of data collection, analysis and management, as well as the study of aerial photographs and historic documents and maps. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
You should be educated to degree level in archaeology or a related subject. You must have at least two years' experience in archaeological/historical fieldwork and/or three years' research experience. It is essential that you have experience of GIS and computerised database systems. An understanding of HLC and the landscape characterisation process is desirable.
The project is largely funded by English Heritage.
