Ron Lister Visiting Fellowship

Applications are invited for the Ron Lister Visiting Fellowship in the
Department of Geography.
This position is supported by funds from the Ron Lister Trust, which was
established in recognition of the foundation Professor of Geography at the
University of Otago.
The Visiting Fellowship will be advertised annually, to be awarded for the
first time in 2006. The Fellowship has been established primarily to
enable distinguished scholars from overseas to spend time teaching and
researching in the Department of Geography at the University of Otago. The
Department is particularly keen to strengthen its research and teaching
links with leading international geographers.
It is envisaged that the Visiting Fellow will spend between four and six
months in the Department of Geography, undertaking research and
contributing to teaching in either the first or second semester. There are
13 weeks of teaching in each semester, with the first semester commencing
on Monday 27 February 2006, and the second semester on Monday 10 July
2006.
It is assumed that the Fellow will continue to receive a salary from
elsewhere during their tenure of the Visiting Fellowship. The successful
applicant will be offered assistance with travel, accommodation,
subsistence and research expenses to a maximum of $12,000.
Applications are invited from geographers in all fields of the discipline.
Preference may be given to applicants working in the broad area of
development studies, and/or to those with an interest in India and/or
China. There is no application form. Those interested in being considered
