I think the best course of action might be to ship this pile of cack back to
the Agency? Anyone agree?

hmm.... but yet i can still get GAC for ethly. and phenol resi. with plant
uptake for female 1-6 all pathways churned out in 10 minutes each? which is
five minutes slower than on my works pc ill grant you but still better than
i expected. which raises the question of why? my virtual memory was
running at 312MB thru the whole process, 100%CPU and 100MB RAM. all those
running Office 203 did you install Office 97 converters? is your BIOS the
problem, have you updated it recently cos the odds are it will need
updating. are any of you out there getting slow times running 64 bit
technology or are you all 32 bit? do you need to change your memory settings
so they are optimised for program usage? who knows, but maybe its something
to investigate! And virtual RAM, maybe if you adjusted it from windows
automatic settings to your own levels it may just be used more and thus help
you lower your times?

Forget whatever Jon says re his computer capabilities, wait until he's
tried
running it on his laptop with office 2003 and watch him change his tune!
So we established that it ran ok with him on Windows 2000 Pro running
Office
2000. One of our computers still runs windows 2000 but unfortunately it
was
killed yesterday and it's sat on my desk here waiting for repair so we
can't
try that.
I have just checked my machine and I have Windows XP Pro (SP2), Office
2003
(SP2) and .NET Framework (1.1 including latest hotfix), 1GB DDR RAM,
3GHz
Pentium 4 with HT and it just took 9 mins to run one test for arsenic
inhalation for female aged 1-6 on a regular house type with plant
uptake,
etc. During processing stats show that Excel.exe process is using 100%
of
the CPU, 50MB Ram, 19MB virtual Ram (so why he thinks boosting your
virtual
Ram will make a difference I don't know) and the results can be seen in
the
Reports folder of the CLR directory.
I have also tried running it with Excel 97 viewer, no different.
