Dear All,
Perhaps I should have included this in my last reply...
According to the EA at the launch, Excel 2000 is a particular concern for
them - they think there might be some minor issues with Excel 2002 and 200x
(where x is a number I can't remember!) but they think these can be easily
worked around. The problem with 2000 is more a Microsoft issue than a CLEA
issue and might be far more difficult to overcome, but the EA didn't seem to
have a handle on the extent of the problem.
One option discussed was for the EA to, at some stage, release a separate
version of CLEA UK for Excel 2000.

I had the same problem with having saved a workbook (using a different name
so the original was preserved), going back to open it and BLAM fatal error.
I'm using Office 2000 & Win xp, although to be honest, I would've have
assumed that as Excel 97 is less advanced than later versions, there would
be no problem in running it in say Excel 2000 (unless someone more nerdy
than me knows of some way in which Excel 2000 is fundamentally different
from 97 ?).
Well, I took a screenshot of the error details so I'll be sending that back
to the EA. Anyone discovered a fix for this one yet?

Jason, I will certainly report it to the EA. As (another) aside, I'm quite
disappointed that they chose Excel 97 to base this on. In my exeperience 98
and 2000 are more common, and if it is based on a more RECENT version you
can always get hold of that if necessary. Its difficult to get old of an
OLDER version of Excel!! As I am quite new to the LA side of contaminated
land, I was hoping tha tthese exercises would give me a good intro to CLEA
and how it is used... sadly I have fallen at the first hurdle and will
obviously have to wait for the final version. I just hope it doesn't take
too long!
Anyway, as you say, it is probably pointless to discuss this at length
here, I'm just a bit frustrated!

Dear all,
I was at the launch on Friday, and it is exactly this sort of thing that
the
EA want feedback on. Whilst it's good to discuss these issues here, don't
forget to also feed them back to the EA - I'm not sure whether any of the
EA
staff involved use this forum. I think feedback forms are included in the
download package.
As an aside (and I don't know if this is the case in the problem Jessica
and
Tracy have reported), at the launch it was noted that the application was
designed for Excel 97 - I think the EA are half expecting problems with
other versions (and hence the beta testing).
Jason.

Hi,
I've been having the same problems as Jessica. Every time I save a
workbook,
regardless of whether or not I rename, I can never get it to open again.
The
only solution I have found is to unzip the software again and rewrite -
obviously not a practical solution!
Any help on this matter would be gratefully received.
Cheers,

After the posts before about problems with this.. I was able to progress...
but now I'm stuck!
When you come to adjust the organic matter content, it says to reopen the
simulation you saved. Well first run through I DIDN'T save it - just the
report. I re-ran it and saved the simulation, but when I tried to reopen it
(after closing it all down like it says) it won't work. After clicking
"enable macros" it comes up witha fatal error and closes Excel.
Any solutions found for this?
