We have a growing number of problems with leaks and spills from heating oil.
Although on the whole these are dealt as insurance jobs there are has been
a couple of cases where we enter a house and it stinks. Despite this we
cannot say for sure what harm it is causing without VOC monitoring; firstly
for the sake of the occupants and secondly to back any Part IIA action we
may want to take.
We would like some kit to be able to make an assessment so I would be
grateful for some advice on the follwing:
What are the dangerous volatile constituents of Domestic Heating Oil?
What is the best way to make an assessment of them?
Is it using an appropriate Drager tube or is there portable longer-term
monitoring kit available that anyone uses?
If so how much can I expect to pay for the latter?
Cheers
