Hi!
At the most recent LOM WG meeting in Orlando, Florida this Sunday, it
was decided that the work on the LOM RDF binding will be discontinued,
and the PAR withdrawn.
The reason is the formation of a new joint taskforce between the IEEE
LTSC and the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative, which will produce a joint
recommendation for using LOM elements in Dublin Core metadata.
By using the Dublin Core RDF binding, LOM elements can be reused in RDF
as well. Hopefully, this will lead to a situation where LOM/DC
interoperability is significantly increased.
Note that this is still a short-term solution to the longer-term problem
of full metadata interoperability, stemming from the fact that the
abstract models of LOM and Dublin Core are fundamentally different.
Please see the taskforce Wiki [0] for more details. Don't hesitate to
join the mailing list and please let me know if you have any questions.
/Mikael
