Dear colleagues
We are proposing to hold an Open Source Portfolio (OSP) meeting on Friday 25
November 2005 in Edinburgh, to follow on from the JA-SIG meeting on the
24th. The purpose of the meeting is to enable all those individuals and
institutions in the UK to get together to share experiences and perhaps form
a stable community for the longer term. Colleagues in the rest of Europe
are very welcome to attend.
The meeting will begin around 0900 and finish by mid afternoon to enable
participants to travel home that evening. Maps, suggestions for
accommodation and further details of the meeting will be circulated in due
course.
At present, the draft agenda consists of
Update on OSP developments (hopefully with someone from the US core
institutions to talk about V2.0 and beyond) Case studies and examples of use
of OSP in Europe/UK Discussion of technical, educational and institutional
issues in using OSP in European educational settings Consideration of the
future of an OSP Group.
Anyone with an interest in OSP is most welcome, please e-mail me to express
your interest or your intention to attend.
Best wishes
Jeff Haywood
