Dear All,
The below is a call for papers for a new online journal, 'Research in Human
Geography'.

Research in Human Geography
Research in Human Geography welcomes papers from researchers and academics
who have traditionally been left on the academic 'fringes', but who may
have some of the most innovative but under-represented ideas in the field.
We welcome contributions from fixed-term contract research and academic
staff, postgraduate students who are at a stage where they may want to
publicise some of their research, and established academics.
In the current climate of RAE-fuelled negative impacts on research,
including 'publication inflation', Research in Human Geography aims to
enable new researchers and those without permanent positions to have a
forum for expression and publication of research. It also provides a forum
for pushing the boundaries in human geography by encouraging debate pieces
aimed at challenging current paradigms.
The journal welcomes abstracts and proposals for papers of between 4,000
and 7,000 words, as well as 'Debate Pieces' of 1,000-3,000 words which take
issue with established knowledges in human geography today. A typical
journal issue will consist of 2-4 papers, 3-5 debate pieces, and selected
book reviews. Initial plans are for four issues per annum, although this
number may be increased based on submission numbers and quality. In short,
this is a flexible new journal aimed at getting your voice as a
geographer 'out there'.
The main advantages of publishing with Research in Human Geography are:
* The copyright is always the author's
* No subscription fees
* Guaranteed 6-week turnaround time for peer-review
* Double-blind peer review process (2 anonymous referees)
* Web publishing
