Coincidentally, I was just looking at

Subject: Re: registries of repositories
Thanks Phil and Neil (all help greatly appreciated (neil))
We've got a prototype UDDI registry working (just).
http://163.1.3.13:8080/JaferRegistry/go_welcome.do
This was developed by Matthew Dovey and Andrew Foster as part of the
extended JAFER project.
UDDI registries 'synchronise' between each other so if people use this
one (joint initiative between Microsoft and IBM) then it does not mean
their data is locked here.
The goal of this is to expose an API so that clients can search it to
discover how target repositories can be searched. We aim to get the MDC
software consuming this UI asap:
http://163.1.3.13:8080/mdc/search.jsp
I s'pose what I am asking though is how do we get these registries
populated - i.e. get them used!
What would be really great is if OAI targets registered themselves and
exposed their metadata to SRW federated searches - then we really would
have a lot of interoperable metadata available that pertains to easily
accessible resources...?
Thanks,
Howard
