Hi All
I'm running a series of internal workshops here at Glasgow Caledonian later
in the year looking at RSS/ATOM initially then building on these to include
podcasting and videoblogging in later workshops.
I'll be putting together a bunch of materials that I'll be happy to share,
and I'll post the URL here when I get them finished.
I'm also really interested in the prospect of recording lectures as part of
our flexible learning model for delivery via podcasting or videoblogging (as
well as regular video and audio on demand). A project which may be of some
interest is The University of Western Australia's iLecture System:
http://ilectures.uwa.edu.au/
The system is really ingenious. Using a web-based interface, lecturers opt
to have their lectures recorded with the actual recording, compression and
subsequent streaming/hosting for download being automatic. The interesting
point is that students can subscribe to a course via RSS and then receive
additional lectures as they happen right into their aggregator.
This is all great, but students would still be tied to a computer and when
our non-traditional students don't have that luxury we've a problem. Throw
in an iPod / PDA / Walkman or iTunes phone and that's overcome. Students
can sync their device with their home machine or a machine on campus and
take the media away with them to listen to when it suits them.
That aside, some interesting materials I've found on the web for podcasting
that might be of interest include:
A Podcasting How-to (this also includes some nice audio info)

Podcasting 101 (a more Mac centric approach)
