I recollect (from a number of years ago) there being
(wainscot-level?) panel paintings of scenes from the Arcadia around
the walls of one of the public rooms at Wilton House as a decoratove
border: I guess they were done a vaguely 18th century style. I did
not come away with any reproduction of them, i.e., I guess there were
no postcards of same being offered to the pilgrim. (The emphasis, at
the time, was on the use of the larger adjoining double cube room--if
I've got this right--for the ballroom scene of the movie of Jane
Austen's Sense and Sensibility starring Emma Thompson, then a friend
of the owner, the seventh or so earl....) JIm N.
