Hi Harriet,
The University of Ulster have developed an in-house PDP System and one
aspect is the generation of e-portfolios, the other aspects of the
system are specifically aimed at supporting the varied PDP processes
implemented within the university.
Currently we have 8000 students using the complete system, and
approximately 1000 e-portfolios are being managed by these students.
The e-portfolio provides the students with a mechanism to present PDP
Products (Skills Audits, Journals, Plans, Goal, etc) with other key
users, both internal and external. Without the e-portfolio feature the
PDP System would be of little use as the products added by students are
private, secure and not available to other users, unless shared
explicitly by the students as part of an e-portfolio.
You can request a demo account at http://pds.ulster.ac.uk (click on the
demo account request link, in the middle of the page).
Regards,
Gordon Crawford
