EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
From policy into practice
Friday 18 November 2005, London
International Week presents an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education in the context of sustainable development. This conference will provide an opportunity to bring together the different aspects and ways of engaging with the sustainable development and education agenda.
Through adopting the innovative 'open space' format, the conference will enable participants to exchange views on sustainable practice and policy and engage in an arena of lively holistic dialogue with the aim of bringing together policy makers and practitioners to facilitate the development of policy at a local level.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
* Gain an overview and understand the concepts of sustainable development beyond the environmental issues.
* Engage in a dialogue around the implementation of sustainable practices.
* Identify effective quality indicators around sustainable practice.
* Explore sustainable development action plans to enable policy makers and practitioners to plan and devise working strategies to implement their plans locally.
The conference will host a marketplace with organisations supporting national and international development on sustainable development and poverty
