Hello All
I am finally getting a seat at the table with the American Political Science Assocation to discuss a) making the conventions and materials more accessible to members with disabilities and b) adding graduate students and junior faculty to their minority fellowship and scholarship programmes. I need to quickly get a presentation together that looks at how professional organisations can support, recruit, and advance colleagues with disabilities in the field of political science. I am looking for your input on these issues as well as any papers that have been written on the graduate school experience with people with disabilities. (I know my own experiences quite well but would like to hear from others. I am also interested in the ways that other disciplines make their professional conferences accessible (if they do at all that is). Any help you could offer would be much appreciated as I only have a few days to get this together as the convention is next week.
All the best,
Mairin
