I have sometime had unhappy experience with the media
and I believe it's better to first have
- a very clear idea of the results you want to achieve
by media coverage
- expert assistance in getting that kind of coverage
and not undesirable commentary
So I would prefer if we got clearer about who "we" are
and what results we would want to see.
Personally I would lean towards something that highlights the
desirability of having local holidays.

hi all,
when we get nearer to drawing some conclusions to this discussion, or
perhaps even before then, is i tworth approaching a major newspaper's
travel
section with the debate? i know people are keen to find out how to take
'greener' holidays in every respect, particularly with an eye on
reducing
CO2 emissions.
at the very least we should condense and summarise the debate, it's full
of
good questions and interesting points and responses.
regards,
Jonathan
ps. i still have the front page from the Indy somewhere from a couple of
months ago. it detailed the advantages (i.e. reduction in emissions) of
travelling by boat and/or train as opposed to air travel. i'll see if i
can
find out the source of the emission estimates.
