Dear all,
I am currently undertaking research on behalf of the Ordnance Survey into
the quality of their 1:100 000 products, and any changes which could be
made to improve them. The working title of this study, which I will also be
submitting as my dissertation for the MSc in GIS at the University of
Nottingham, is “Designing ‘information-rich’ mapping: a valuable addition
or a costly extra?”
For this study I need to know your opinions! I am looking for people who
would be willing to complete two relatively short questionnaires for me.
The first one, which I will be sending out shortly, will be about the
strengths and weaknesses of the current OS products, and what you would
like to see in an improved “information rich” 1:100 000 map. Once I receive
your responses, I will then spend about a month making a sample version of
the proposed “information-rich” map, and will send out a second
questionnaire asking for feedback on the sample product in early August. I
need a sample of all sorts of map users (from the very experienced to the
completely inexperienced) so it doesn't matter how much you use maps, your
opinions would still be very interesting to me.
If you would be willing to fill out these questionnaires for me, please
email me at [log in to unmask] If you have access to broadband I can
email the questionnaire to you, but because it contains pictures of map
samples, it is a rather large file, so if you don't have broadband, please
could you let me know your postal address and I will post it instead.
Many thanks,
Liz Humphreys.
