Thanks. I'll give it another try (and manually botch my libtool for the
moment).

Norman: You can't worry about it. You just have to make sure that the
patches are accepted so that we know the extent of our support issue. We
don't want to support the merging of a load of outstanding patches that
will get harder as more people submit inferior patches to autoconf.
