As I read it, it seems to lean in the direction of implying that
consummation (and the birth of other children) happened afterwarf. The
Protoevangelion is likewise silent on subsequent activity. As I mentioned
earlier, the first Christians were interested in the virgin birth, not the
virginity of Mary.
