As is common in most training courses, a generic framework allows students
to focus on their own special interests. We would like to let people on
this list know that our long-established course in Online Education and
Training is structured so that you can take up a special focus on How to
Teach Language Online.

Within the framework of general principles and practice of internet
teaching, you will engage in tasks, activities and practical activities
designed to introduce you to online language teaching. At the same time,
you will benefit from working with peers many of whom have a similar
focus, but others from a range of different subject fields.

The coursecarries 30 UK credits towards either a master’s or a diploma.
It can be taken either by 10 weeks distance study online, or else by 5
weeks blended mode including 5 separate days in London,
starting October 10th 2005.

There is a choice of options including:
• using the internet to enhance teaching of
            vocabulary/grammar/reading/ writing/listening/speaking
• online discourse and moderating
• computer-based assessment
• mobile technologies
• real-time teaching with CHAT or video/web-conferencing
• blogging
• podcasting
You will be required to attend one ‘virtual meeting’ out of school hours.

The fee is £Stg 499, which can be paid by bank transfer, credit card or
instalments.
