Hello,
I've been working on the 18th & 19th century coal mines at Midlothian,
VA and in one of the tailings heaps was a quite large stone I would
like to enlist your help in identifying. The piece was granite, roughly
4'x8'x6". The dressing marks were visible on the thin sides and on the
one flat side. The top flat side was incredibly smooth, as in worn
smooth. No marks of any sort, just your basic flat surface.
Any ideas as to function?
Thanks in advance.
