Dear Colleague,
There are still places available on the Netskills workshop
'Information Skills: Is Google Enough?' running at Newcastle
University on 23rd June.
For many people Google is the one and only place to search
for information on the internet. But how do you know if the
sites Google finds are of good quality? And just how helpful
is it to get several million hits? This workshop will help
you learn how to make the most of Google, and a range of
other information sources, in order to find quality
information quickly and effectively.
This workshop will give you a greater understanding of how
Google works and equip you to search it, and other sites,
more effectively. The workshop also provides you with the
opportunity to explore what else is out there, learn about
new developments in searching and think about how to
evaluate web sites for quality.
We will be repeating this event at the following venues in July:
- South Camden City Learning Centre (6th July)
- University of the West of England (14th July)
Full details of these workshops, together with booking forms are
available from our events web-site:

Steve Boneham.
