[With apologies for cross-posting]
Germanists are invited to the 2005 joint conference of the German and French
Studies Library Groups, which will be held in Oxford, September 15th-17th.
"Continuity and change: manuscript to management"
In the year when we mark the 50th anniversary of Thomas Mann's death and the
200th anniversary of Friedrich Schiller's, the programme offers you the
chance to hear T. J. Reed speak on "Editing Thomas Mann" and F. J. Lamport
discuss "Schiller: passion and politics". On the French side, Mark Bannister
from Oxford Brookes will present the CESAR project (Calendrier Electronique
des Spectacles sous l'Ancien Régime) and there will also be an introduction
to the Voltaire Foundation's Electronic Enlightenment project.
Naturally there will also be presentations on Oxford's integrated library
system, and the opportunity to visit various contrasting libraries.
Numbers for the tour of the Bodleian Library are restricted to F/GSLG
members, but non-members are very welcome to attend all other sessions.
You'll find full details and a registration form on our website (link
below). You can book now and arrange payment by the date of the conference.
