Looks suspiciously like a multi-threaded trample to me. Tcl/Tk is not
thread-safe it seems, and the ticker uses a separate thread, so my guess
is that is the source of the problem. (We had a Mac problem with this
thread issue as well recently, if I remember correctly.)
