It is the Feast of Bede, of course, but he is not in the Sarum calendar.
All the more remarkable then, that he made it into the Book of Common Prayer
("Venerable Bede, Presbyter" - which makes him sound like an archdeacon...)

He was yesterday, of course. I have now found him in the Tridentine
calendar: on 28 May, under the unfamiliar soubriquet "bishop and
confessor" - as if that would distinguish him from any other Augustine! The
Book of Common Prayer (on the correct date) at least says "the first Archb.
of Canterbury".
