Climate Change is increasingly recognised as mankind's greatest security
risk, even by a report prepared for the Pentagon in 2003. So far, our
collective response has fallen short of what is required in terms of
economic measures, lifestyle and world-view changes required to stabilise
the situation. This meeting will explain the latest scientific predictions,
the crucial role of the Amazon Forest and then consider the more fundamental
transformations required in our economic systems, values and priorities. It
will form a vital contribution to the continuing policy debate, and we very
much look forward to your active participation.
