Phil is basically right, but just to clarify a couple of points....
Robby Robson of LTSC took over the chair of the Metadata SIG when Toni
Roberts of CanCore stepped down. As Robby is frequently tied up with
other business I've been designated as the point of contact between IMS
staff and the IMS Metadata SIG.
The current IMS Learning Resource Metadata 1.3 Specification is a
public draft. In order for this to become final I believe it will have
to be resubmitted to the IMS Technical Board, who could knock it back
if they object to replacing the current IMS binding with the new IEEE
binding. Hopefully that won't happen. I now need to contact IMS staff
to discuss whether we can take LRM 1.3 public draft to Tech Board now
the IEEE binding has been finalised. I'm hoping that we won't have to
wait until the document itself is actually available for purchase but I
can't rule that out as a possibility. I'll keep this list posted as we
progress this activity.
Also thanks to Andy for asking and answering the "interesting
questions" about the new binding :-)
Bye
Lorna
