Hannah,
well I think that the groups would have to be inclusive, i.e. perhaps
provide a sighted guide (on a rota basis, or asking for volunteers).
Information produced by the group should also be available in accessible
formats. Or is your query directed at Local Authorities who are responsible
for the provision of stiles etc? There might be a case for making these more
accessible....although the case for this would be based more on mobility
than visual impairment.

Subject: The DDA , walking groups and visual 'impairment'
Can anyone tell me how the DDA will affect the rights of those people with
visual impairments who want to join 'mainstream' walking groups such as the
Ramblers Assocition and other Walking Clubs?
I am carrying out doctoral research with specialist walking groups for
people with visual impairments and have become interested in this matter.
Any thoughts would be appreciated
