Dear all,
In April, August and December the NRICH site contains two extra open-ended,
investigative challenges instead of the normal monthly content. If you are
currently on holiday from school, twiddling your thumbs, or simply need a
mind-stimulating activity, these are guaranteed to grab your attention.
If you fancy taking your maths out-of-doors, try the "Watch those Wheels"
Picture Puzzler
(<http://nrich.maths.org/public/viewer.php?obj_id=2815&part=index>).
You'll never look at a car wheel in the same way again...
"Pebbles" (<http://nrich.maths.org/public/viewer.php?obj_id=48&part=index>)
will challenge your knowledge of rectangles and their areas, and definitely
has a holiday feel.
Don't forget that solutions to last month's problems will appear at the
beginning of May along with a whole host of new problems, mathematical
games and articles.
With best wishes from the NRICH Team.
