medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Hi, Erik,
For what it's worth: a number of penitentials, e.g., Burchard of Worms',
take into account abortion before the child's quickening: Excussit
conceptum tuum antequam vivificaretur? ... fecisti post conceptum spiritum
...
Exultatio certainly sounds more liturgical than vivificatio or conceptus
spiritus.
Bernadette
