Dear Colleagues,
Comments apply to Plain Text email.
MS Outlook Plain Text has 5 sizes, selected by
going to Main Page > View > Text Size.
Most of us can't be bothered to change
them, but sometimes someone sends us a text
in the largest size, or sometimes very small
(such as the Russian message I just circulated
to the russian-teaching list).
There is a far easier way to change text size:
HOW TO CHANGE TEXT SIZE
If your Outlook screen has three areas, 1) list
of Folders, 2) list of Messages and 3) text of the
highlighted Message:
Put the pointer over the message (3)
HOLD DOWN CTRL
Scroll up and down with the mouse scrolling wheel
and you can select any Text Size of the five on offer.
(METHOD ALSO APPLIES TO DOCUMENTS IN WORD)
Don't forget that this changes the default, so when
you come to create a message, you will also be
writing in the new size. This stays the same until you
change it, using either method.
You can't use this short cut to change text size when
creating a new message, by the way.
