1.2  Spring conference success
We had an excellent time at the conference in Dublin on Thursday and
a very productive research seminar on the Friday, which will lead to
a report to be published in July. The research seminar was again
oversubscribed - book early next year! Copies of presenters' slides
will be on the ALT web site next week

6.1 JISC ITTs: Community Image Collections and Medical Images Studies
It is intended that these two studies run in parallel and that the
successful bidders, if different, will need to work closely together
in order to synchronise their findings and recommendations as
appropriate.

6.1.1 Community Image Collections
... proposals to undertake a scoping study to define the feasibility
of creating a network of community-based image archives within the
context of further and higher education. Funding of up to £45,000
including VAT and expenses is available for this study. Deadline:
13.00 GMT on Tuesday 3rd May 2005.

6.1.2 Medical Images
... proposals to explore possible models and develop an agreed
framework for clinical recordings deposit and access, including
exploring the potential for a user-driven service. Funding of up to

6.2 JISC Circular 4/05 - Call for Host Sites for UK Visualisation
Support Network
... invites HE institutions, funded via the UK funding bodies, to
submit proposals to participate in a UK visualisation support
network. Sophisticated visualisation techniques are essential to
understand the outputs of many computer applications. Funding of
around £500,000 is available for the network over three years in the
first instance. Deadline: 13:00 hours on 18 May 2005.
