medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I scoured every "symbol" book I own and the weasel (ermine, ferret, belette,
fouine, hermine) in both English and French books is indicated as
symbolizing purity, royalty. Nothing whatsoever about BVM, conception, etc.
Speaking slightly off the subject, the "patte d'hermine" was the symbol of
the Duchy of Brittany.
