Research Officers (Two Posts)
Department of Social Policy and Social Work, University of Oxford Grade RS1
(A) £19,460 - £29,128 Applications are invited from researchers to work on
projects relating to
social grants and poverty in South Africa from a social policy perspective
at
the Centre for the Analysis of South African Social Policy (CASASP) at the
University of Oxford, England. The posts will also involve small-scale
project
management and regular contributions to the preparation of academic
articles.
It is essential for the applicant to have a Doctorate or Masters Degree in
Social Policy (or in a related discipline such as Sociology, Social
Development or Economics). Experience of working in at least one of
SAS/STATA/SPSS is required, as well as at least one year of post-Masters-
level
quantitative research experience. Ability to speak and write fluently in
English is essential. Communication skills in at least one other South
African
language are desirable. The posts will be based at the Centre for the
Analysis
of South African Social Policy within the Department of Social Policy and
Social Work. The posts are full-time and will be for one year in the first
instance.
