Records Management Officer (P-3 in UN system),
Archives and Records Management Section

Assignment
The incumbent is responsible for overseeing: the Agency's records
management programme, including the establishment of policies and model
procedures for the management of all formats of records; the development
and implementation of records retention schedules; the Agency's record-
keeping systems for paper and electronic records; and for providing records
management training as required. The incumbent is also responsible for:
overseeing the Agency's forms management programme, including the
establishment of policies and model procedures for the management of
official Agency forms; providing support for the analysis, design,
development, implementation and maintenance of Agency forms; and
maintaining the forms catalogue.
In particular, to:
- Develop and maintain the records retention schedule and monitor the
disposal of records in accordance with the approved retention schedule.
- Control the Agency's record-keeping systems by means of audits, the
review of proposed electronic record-keeping systems and implementation of
the records classification scheme.
- Review and update records management and forms management policies and
procedures.
- Provide leadership, training and direction to Records Management Clerks,
Records Office Clerks and Forms Coordinators and provide training to staff
on the records management and forms management programmes as required.
- Manage official Agency forms.
- Assist in the management of the Section and support the Section Head in
all related functions.
Education and Experience
- University degree in records management or a related field. Advanced
university degree desirable. Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation
preferred.
- A minimum of six years experience at a progressively responsible relevant
professional level, preferably in an international organization or another
multilateral environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to operate
effectively across organizational boundaries and the ability to establish
and maintain effective partnerships and working relations in a
multicultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for
diversity.
- Proven supervisory experience.
- Good management and leadership capabilities.
- Practical experience in the implementation of electronic records
management systems (especially LiveLink) desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent command of written and spoken English is essential.
- Knowledge of any other official Agency language (i.e. Arabic, Chinese,
French, Russian or Spanish) would be advantageous.
Remuneration
The Agency offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free
annual net base salary starting at US $48 242 (subject to mandatory
deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post
