I have read a lot about Sharepoint 1 and its failings with regards to its
Records Management & Document Management ability or rather its inability.
We are a medium sized architectural practice and are looking quiet
seriously at introducing Sharepoint initially to manage our Knowledge Net
intranet site. Our second stage is to implement Sharepoint to manage our
MS office suite of documentation along with Graphic data and ADT-AutoCAD
drawings, which form 70% of our total data.
Q1 - I would like to talk with anyone who has actually implemented
Sharepoint 2003(the new/2nd version).
Q2 - I would also like to hear of anyone has managed to integrate
Sharepoint with AutoCAD or ADT, or written ifilters for AutoCAD or ADT.
Q3 - Has anyone had firsthand experience of storing a large volume of data
on Sharepoint and how well did the data indexing & retrieval work?
Q4 - How many files did they have in the Sharepoint system? Basically how
scalable is it?
Q5 - Sharepoint 2003 numbers & stores file objects randomly in the storage
server. Has anyone had experience of the Security Model, does it secure
down to file level?
Any constructive help with the queries listed above would be very much
appreciated.
