medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Hi, Nancy,
On my old computer I had an oft used program with a Y-2K bug that I got
around by setting the date back 10 years... I sometimes forgot to change
back, too. <G> These type of "date-backs," however, occur with current
threads and discussions.
We can expect questions about Kalamazoo come April -- and that puts this
particular type of voice from the past that is occurring on several
lists into the person's server purging a dormant account type of
occurrence. It has happened before when a uni site apparently was
purging dead accounts and was a bit careless about deleting mailbox
content first. Each time a mass of older mailings came shooting back. The
last "mass" mailing of this type (and it was a mass) showed up at the
beginning of a new session and included mail from the person's box that
dated back as much as three years. It is always disconcerting when it
happens ...
back on my head,
rochelle
