Coventry University do a CRB on every student on entry to the course.
Thereafter, the student must sign a declaration under the Rehabilitation
of Offenders Act, on the attached template, as returning students at
stage 2 and stg 3.
We have no plans to change this practice and it would be unreasonable to
do so. We do 1000-1200 student CRBs per year.
CRB disclosures are effectively out of date as soon as they are issued,
and we destroy clear forms almost on receipt, and in any event within 3
months.
Perhaps your placement areas that are unhappy would accept a declaration
instead of a full CRB?
