Things are slightly different in Scotland as we have Disclosure
Scotland, rather than the CRB which runs the Disclosure checks. However
at Edinburgh we only check students at the point of offer/entry to the
course and they are not required to undergo a further check, we have not
encountered any problem with this to date. I suspect this may be
something which needs to be taken forward with the individual placement
agencies or a better alternative might be to open up discussions with
the Nursing & Midwifery Council or CMHS to reach agreement regarding
this issue.
Best wishes

I would be grateful for feedback from colleagues. We are coming under
increasing pressure to repeat CRB checks on a yearly basis for our
nursing students because some of our placements are refusing to accept
CRB certificates which are over 12 months old. Are any of you coming
under similar pressure or are you already rechecking annually? Many
thanks Pat
