Perhaps you would allow the authors of those posts to be the judge of that.
In neither case was this a free-standing Britarch post which started a new
thread here but referred back to and continued an ongoing discussion. In my
case, the message you took to create your "new thread" was one of two I
wrote in reply to a message of Gary Brun. You only reproduced one of them,
without making reference to the thread of which it formed a part. As for
"manipulation", the words with which you introduced this "new thread"

for you from Britarch YAWN !! Mr Barford writes,...." and omitting any
reference to the title I gave the thread or what it was about. In my book,
that counts as manipulating the context.
As a result, you did not see on UKDN a discussion of the implications of
these rough figures (which I would have hoped from a responsible sector of
the hobby on one of the prime discussion fora should have been, "yes, let's
all do something ourselves about those non-recorders! They are getting the
hobby a bad reputation" or EVEN maybe: "....are doing the buried heritage of
this country a lot of damage").Instead..... Well as I said, would you or the
authors of the "replies" to my original text like somebody now to copy all
the posts of that thread and post them over on Britarch for our scrutiny to
see in what vien detectorists discuss the implications of the points I
