"Culture and Social Change: Disciplinary Exchanges"
11-13 July 2005

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Craig Calhoun (Sociology, New York)
Veena Das (Anthropology, Johns Hopkins)
Ash Amin (Geography, Durham)
Nikolas Rose (Sociology, LSE)
Nigel Thrift (Geography, Oxford)
This conference encourages inter-disciplinary exchanges
on the relationship between the cultural and the social.
Themed sessions will bring together leading
anthropologists, historians, geographers, management
scientists, media studies researchers and sociologists to
present papers in areas where such debates about culture
and social change are especially pronounced:
Theme 1: Cultural Economy
Theme 2: Changing Media Cultures and Economies
Theme 3: Cultural Governance and Citizenship
Theme 4: Changing Cultural Values and Politics
Papers are encouraged from researchers with interests in
any of these specific fields as well as the general issues of
the conference. Proposals of 200 words should be
