Quite possibly true. I was also working from the small sample on the
ArtSurvey pages; there may be better elsewhere on the site. But the
quality is a lot better in many of the views here (another site where
navigation is purely linear):

True. But one can still be grateful that these are available even as
one wishes that the quality were better. This doesn't stike me as a
situation where Gresham's Law is operative.

I wasn't referring to iconography. Just knowing where one is in the
layout would be helpful. I would even guess that, in order to
facilitate reference to them, these columns and caps are all numbered
somewhere and that someone at the Museo Diocesano at Benevento knows
where that somewhere is and could provide that information upon
inquiry. Mutatis mutandis, the same for the individual plates of
Barisano's doors at Trani.
