journey, one of the first things he realizes is...sweet sounding
music....the sound of heavenly voices singing that the region following next
would be the ultimate bliss, i.e. the heavenly Jerusalem.
>...a taste of heavenly voices.
> If I am informed correctly, Hidlegard's Ordo Virtutum has at its centre the
conflict of a soul about whether to follow the vices or the virtues (in a way
a morality really). After having followed the devil for a while the soul
realizes that only a virtuous life can lead to salvation and returns to the
virtues.
is this the work by her that is mostly made up of "heavenly voices", but does
have one section where there is a *very* abrupt intrusion of a positively
Demonic voice?
the first time i heard that i was working on something, with it in the
background, grooving on the sweet sounding music and was quite taken off guard
by that Demonic Intrustion --scared me out of my wits, i dropped whatever it
was that i was holding.
powerful stuff.
>we have already looked at quite a number of depictions of heaven...in
medieval art...
well, you have to be careful when looking at that stuff, because it's very
easy to mistake the Heavenly Waters for mere Clouds, in those literal
representations.
a mistake no middlevil person would ever make, of course.
