How interesting! Yes thank you, that would be lovely.
Can anyone suggest why such a thing might be a "prohibited" item in Elizabethan England? Does a "collapsible cross" like this <g> have some specifically Roman Catholic connotation?

By the most extraordinary coincidence, I possess an item EXACTLY like your
#2: it's a very elaborate cricifix given to me by my (German) father, its
age I do not know. The base of the crucifix and the cross are formed by
pieces of wood cunningly shaped so the whole thing holds together without
any nails or any device used to keep the thing intact. The corpus, of
course, is carved wood. If you wish I can send you a digital photo of it; my
camera and the object are feet away from me at this moment.
