Dear friends:
I came from Beijing, and just finished my MSc Internatinonal Marketing
course in Sheffield Hallam University. Instead of business, I have a strong
interest on teaching Chinese as a foreign language in the UK, which comes
from my interests on western and oriental culture. My previous experience
are mainly about business, and I only have informal individaul Chinese
teaching experience in China.
I read a lot information from relevant web sites, like: TTA, Canteach, etc.
I find traditonal routes of becoming a Chinese teacher is hard because only
University of Sheffield provide PGCE on Chinese with German or French. Also,
it's quite expensive for me. However, as I know there are about seventy
Chinese teachers in about sixty schools all over the UK, like you. I don't
think many of them came to this career by PGCE. Could you give me some
suggestion about how to enter this career? My student visa will expire Jan.
2006, and work permit is another factor need concern at the same time.
By the way, as you know is there any Chinese teaching opportunity in
Sheffield?
I appreciate your help and sorry for disturbing people who have no
interests.
Looking forward your reply
Best Regards,
Mao, Xiang
